The first step is connection.
Early consultation responses have highlighted peer exchange and opportunities to learn from other institutions as an important support need. The SIG is therefore developing a professional peer network for medical educators working on clinical communication and related areas of competency-based medical education.
What the network is for
The network is intended to create a low-friction way for educators and institutions to exchange implementation experience, discuss common challenges and share useful evidence and resources.
It is not a commercial forum and joining the network does not create any obligation to participate in future projects.
Peer exchange
Share institutional experience in teaching, practice, assessment, feedback and faculty development.
Evidence updates
Receive concise CBME and clinical communication briefings with attention to the strength and limits of the evidence.
Focused discussions
Take part in virtual peer exchanges and topic-focused working groups when there is a clear educational need.
Academic collaboration
Identify opportunities for multicenter research, shared resources and collaborative educational work.
Simple, useful and easy to participate in.
The initial network will use email briefings, structured virtual peer exchanges and focused working groups rather than requiring members to join a new discussion platform. The format can evolve as the community grows and its needs become clearer.
